Paul Pellman, Chief Executive Officer
A seasoned and experienced sales and marketing operations leader, Paul Pellman was introduced to Adometry through Austin Ventures, one of Adometry' investors, where he served as Entrepreneur in Residence.
Prior to joining Adometry in March 2008, he was executive vice president of Marketing for Hoover's, where he was responsible for the leadership of the company's brand development and marketing initiatives, including customer acquisition and retention, research, strategy, product positioning, licensing, traffic-oriented business development and marketing communications. Paul also served as Interim President of Hoover's from November 2006 through June 2007. Before joining Hoover's, he was vice president of Consumer Direct for global internet group - Terra Lycos.
Paul has served in a number of executive management roles, including CEO for two early stage start-ups. Paul began his career as a senior consultant with a Big Eight accounting firm and holds a B.S. in accounting and finance from the University of Arizona and an MBA from Harvard University.
Peter Norwood, Chief Operating Officer
A seasoned industry executive, Mr. Norwood has played a foundational role as a senior executive in a number of early stage technology companies. He was the first executive hired by the founders at Adometry. In his capacity as COO, he helped to recruit and build the team and the products. He continues to manage all of R&D, Operations and Client Services for Adometry. Prior to Adometry, he served as Senior Vice President of Products and Services at WholeSecurity, a company that was focused on detecting crimeware and online fraud and was acquired by Symantec in 2005. There he managed and oversaw all aspects of R&D as well as technical support and operations.
Before joining WholeSecurity, Mr. Norwood was a venture partner at TL Ventures in Austin, Texas, where he performed due diligence, led funding activities and sat on the board of directors for several early-stage software companies. He previously served as chief executive officer of Reliant Data Systems, a company that was acquired by Compuware. Prior to Reliant, he was Vice President of Development at Tivoli Systems where he was one of the first employees and helped build the company until it had its IPO and was acquired by IBM.
Prior to his career in executive management of early stage technology startups, Mr. Norwood was managed all software development at Tandem Computers Austin division responsible for innovative fault tolerant UNIX systems. He started his career at Bell Laboratories in New Jersey as a Member of Technical Staff. He holds an MSEE from the University of Texas at Austin and BA from Haverford College.
Kimberly Davis, Vice President, Sales
Kimberly brings to Adometry over 20 years' experience within the technology field, most recently in the Web Customer Experience Management, Enterprise Search, and Business Intelligence sectors. Her prior experience includes Hardware, Infrastructure, Databases, Development Tools, and Product Lifecycle Management. Her particular interests and subsequent successes have been in the area of setting and executing Sales and Field Marketing strategies that include the development of Direct Sales and Channel teams, Inside Sales, Professional Services, and Field Marketing. Beginning from her Microsoft days she has successfully turned around underperforming business operations to profitability with her previous organizations after Microsoft at Tealeaf Technology, Entopia, Brio Software and MS2. She also has merged diverse and hostile field organizations, opened up new markets and channels with unproven products and developed and executed new strategies where others have failed.
At each and every company she has worked, she guided teams to exceed quotas, increasing year over year revenue attainment or achieve top search rankings. Her belief and success is a result of consistently applying a results-oriented approach to the business, demonstrating strong and collaborative communication skills to both subordinates and superiors, repeatedly showing an ability to hire, motivate, and develop a team, and possessing the courage to take appropriate business risks.
Kimberly graduated with a B.S. from the University of California, Davis with Honors and currently resides in the North California area and also spends time in Austin, TX at our corporate headquarters when she isn't on the road talking to customers and clients.
Robert Marsa, Vice President, Technology
Robert oversees Adometry's development process, product architecture, research directions, and technology platform.
Prior to joining Adometry in early 2009, Robert was Lead Programmer at Spacetime Studios, where he helped to develop the technology and manage the programming team for a sci-fi MMO. Before this, he was Lead Server Engineer at Fastlane Games, where he architected and developed server technology for an action MMO.
Robert was co-founder and CTO of Wolfpack Studios, where he architected the technology and managed the engineers who developed, launched, and supported the successful MMO, Shadowbane. After leaving Wolfpack at the end of 2003, he consulted for several publishers on MMO projects. Prior to Wolfpack, he was a Senior Engineer for Reliant Data Systems, where he developed an embeddable Java data transformation engine that was acquired by Compuware.
Robert earned a PhD in Physics from the University of Texas at Austin. He has undergraduate degrees in Math, Physics, and Engineering. He has co-authored more than a dozen publications and has presented at scientific conferences, the Austin Game Developer's Conference, and Apple's WWDC. Robert has more than 20 years of professional software development experience which includes embedded hardware, drivers, compilers, database applications, image processing, signal processing, large-scale scientific computing, as well as MMO games. He is an expert at object-oriented design and scalable architectures.
John Dietz, Vice President, Products
John co-founded Adometry in 2008 with 20 years of technology and leadership experience. Prior to Adometry, John was an executive for the Walt Disney Internet Group, and where he was responsible for technical direction and implementation of Disney advertising technologies. Before joining Disney, John was the VP of Engineering for educational software startup Stone Tablet Education, responsible for all technical implementation and operations. John has also held leadership positions in other technology companies including Primus Knowledge Solutions, Sierra On-Line, and Click2Learn.com. John has a bachelors degree in Computer Science from Seattle University, a masters degree from the University of Washington in Educational Technology, and has pending patents for advertising forecasting and delivery algorithms.
Shi Zhong, Chief Scientist
Shi brings over 14 years of academic and industrial research experience, with a focus on data mining/machine learning/statistical modeling. As a key contributor of the patent-pending Adometry fractional attribution and campaign optimization technologies, Shi is an enthusiast of applying data mining and machine learning techniques to solve large-scale real-world data analytics problems.
Prior to Adometry, Shi worked as a senior pricing scientist for Zilliant, where he helped develop advanced price segmentation and demand modeling techniques. Before that Shi was a research scientist at Yahoo and worked on a variety of data mining projects, including ad creative risk assessment, internet user segmentation, behavioral targeting, and campaign optimization. Even earlier Shi worked as an assistant professor at Florida Atlantic University where he conducted academic research in various areas of data mining and machine learning.
Shi earned his PhD in Data Mining from the University of Texas at Austin in 2003. Shi has over thirty journal and conference publications and two awarded US patents. Shi continues to frequently serve on program committees of different data mining conferences and as a reviewer for premier research journals.
